Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Memorizing vocabulary without practicing how to apply it to unfamiliar experimental scenarios, which is how most FRQs are framed.
- Weak graph/data-analysis skills — several FRQ points every year come from correctly reading and interpreting a given graph or data table.
- Not connecting content back to the four Big Ideas, which is exactly the kind of synthesis long FRQs reward.
- Skipping practice with statistical concepts (standard deviation, chi-square) that appear in the free-response section.
